Who is Alex Robleno?

Portrait of Alex Robleno

Alex Robleno is an award-winning entrepreneur from the Basque Country, Spain, with more than 15 years of experience in technology, marketing, AI and esports. A former esports pro player, he carried the discipline of competition into his studies and graduated as valedictorian of his class at Mondragon University. He founded FOKUS.GG, an esports talent agency, and OMNIS Club, and works as a consultant, mentor and speaker.

His roots are in gaming. He competed in Counter-Strike in the ESL Pro Series and, as Alxshow, became a YouTube Partner in 2013 and a Twitch Partner in 2014. While he streamed actively, his channel ranked among the top 1% on Twitch. Talent represented by FOKUS.GG has signed more than 60 contracts with teams and brands. In his first year running EncounterTV, Euskal Encounter’s streaming channel, yearly watch time grew by 929% and average viewers by 246%.

He specialises in high-performance teams and has coached and worked with national esports champions, medical doctors and international companies. His methods come from professional esports, from a degree built on the Finnish Team Academy model, and from training with David Sibbet, co-creator of the Drexler/Sibbet Team Performance Model.

He founded his first company, Tidelabs, a business intelligence and IT consulting firm, in 2012, and has since completed the AI and Innovation master’s programme by Founderz, created with Microsoft. His AI workshops range from building autonomous AI agents at UNI Eibar to designing AI influencers at Euskal Encounter.

He advises brands, professionals, universities and public bodies on marketing, content and media strategy, technology and AI, and was consulted as an expert for Andorra’s national esports strategy. He teaches and speaks on AI, entrepreneurship, high-performance teams, marketing and esports, in English, Spanish and Basque. He has taught on the Master in Innovation and Sports Business Management at Mondragon University and run technology workshops in Europe and Asia, and he mentors startups at BerriUp and in several institutional and university programmes. He has studied, worked, taught and volunteered in ten countries across three continents.

He received the Toribio Echevarria Award for Strategic Specialization in 2021, for FOKUS.GG, and the Kutxa Final Studies Award for Academic Excellence in 2018.
